Rafters

The best support is timber. The user should know as much as possible about the types and sections of timber required. Sizes vary dependant on local building requirements.

For circular buildings:
For towers, apses and domes, poplar is generally used.

Fixings:
Battens or counter battens should always use alloy steel nails.

Wood treatment
Treatment of the wood is recommended.
It should be a fungicide, insecticide and cryptogamic for woods that are to be preserved, whatever their section. .
